My timeshare offered a deal on a property away from the Strip in Vegas. I could not pass up the opportunity to use 75% fewer Club Points. Although reviews for this property were less than favorable, a one-bedroom was available for 594 Club Points. What did I have to lose?
Of course, I booked my flight as soon as I made the reservation at Cancun Las Vegas Hilton Vacation Club. June is always tricky for travel. The crew experienced a delay to Chicago due to the weather. When the plane landed in Vegas, we could not deplane because of issues with the jet bridge. I experienced a delay to Chicago. Guess who I saw in Vegas deplaning on a SWA flight? Eric Estrada.
I have no interest in upgrading my timeshare. However, I received a substantial offer of Hilton Honors points to attend an update for 60 minutes. If you commit to attending a sales presentation for a gift, make sure you have the same commitment to say no if you are not interested in purchasing.
Because I did not rent a car, Autaisha found a room on the 4th floor in Building 1. I was pleasantly surprised. The pictures on the Hilton website did not match the actual room I received. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening. If I stay here again, I will ask for a room with a better sunrise view. There is a large tree to the left of the balcony in room 1460. The room was perfect except for the air conditioning malfunction. The engineer addressed the issue immediately. If there is a problem with your room, always remain calm.
I needed a restaurant on-site and a grocery store nearby for this solo trip to work. When I checked in through VIP, I asked about Caribe. Autaisha highly recommended breakfast. I ordered the smoked chicken and cheese omelet with fruit. For lunch, I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich. The meat is smoked on-site. During your stay, try the restaurant at least once. Happy Hour is 3:00-4:00PM. Look for an 18% gratuity on each check. However, timeshare owners receive a 10% discount.
After spending time at the presentation, grocery shopping, and talking to a couple during Happy Hour, I made it to the pool. This property is kid-friendly. I headed to the pool at 9:00AM to find an adult-friendly space. Besides, the temperature is double digits in the morning and triple digits in the afternoon. Even though there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy, I saw more children arriving at the pool around 10:00.
There is a CVS and Smith’s across the street. Yes, I crossed six lanes of traffic to purchase items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. By the way, I used my Mariano’s member number to save $5 on my purchase. Do not buy veggies at the store. You can save money if you pick your veggies from the garden near the BBQ area on the property. Finally, the Premium Outlet Mall is a mile away.
I spent less than $400 for a roundtrip flight, accommodations, and meals. In addition, I do not pay resort fees when I book with Club Points. I enjoyed my stay and will return. If you are looking for a great place to stay away from the strip, reserve a room at Cancun Las Vegas Hilton Vacation Club. Do not forget your sunscreen.
