I began my career in education as a high school science teacher. After teaching for ten years, I earned my School Counselor certification and later became a National Board Certified Teacher (NBPTS). I also mentor counselors seeking National Board Certification. As a school counselor, students share their stories with me. It is time for me to share my stories. However, I will not write about education. I started this blog to share my travel experiences in hopes that I will encourage you to start traveling or inspire you to take more trips.

I travel solo, with Kim, with Lynn, sometimes we travel together, and there are times I plan trips with friends and colleagues. Although I am not big on international travel, I have been to Cabo (twice), Cancun (twice), Jamaica, and Spain. Kim has traveled to Belize and Cabo. Of course, Lynn was with us in Cabo. She recently made a trip to Thailand and crossed the pond to see the Chicago Bears play.

A friend said to me, “I know you are not rich, but you travel, you need to share some of your tips, you and Lynn.” The narrative for this blog is to share how I travel using credit cards and hotel rewards programs. My goal for most trips is to earn points as I redeem them.

Another friend saw the LSKTravelz logo on a shirt and said, “At first glance, I thought the initials stood for you and your sisters until I saw luggage, sunglasses, and keys.” He was correct: Lynn, Sheryl, and Kim. However, our names have nothing to do with travel. I knew I would use our initials in a business endeavor eventually. When I saw a wrought iron fence of children holding hands, I sent a mockup to Sharvin Whitted, and he created the design. Now you know the story behind the logo.
