Yes, I had a layover in Denver in my quest to visit the 43rd state. Check your credit card travel benefits. Access to an airport lounge came in handy to and from Idaho. A Priority Pass lounge is not available at Denver, Colorado International. I used my Platinum American Express to gain access to the Centurion Lounge. On my way to Idaho, I enjoyed Prime Rib, pasta salad, Brussels Sprouts, and gelato. On my way to Chicago, I tried the macaroni and cheese bar and ordered a local beer. I enjoyed both complimentary meals and spent $13 on tips for the bartender and staff cleaning off tables.
If you need to make a trip to Boise, I suggest you make a reservation at Hampton Inn & Suites. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are spacious. I wanted a balcony, even though I knew the forecast called for rain. I received complimentary water and selected 250 Hilton Honors Points instead of a snack. However, the TV did not work. I had to change rooms. The new room had a balcony too, but the view was better from the 4th floor. Oh, the room included a loft. Don’t forget to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast. I made waffles. The turkey sausage links were delicious.
After the complimentary airport shuttle dropped me off, I checked in and put my luggage away. I called Rideshare to take me to Boise Towne Square. The fare was $19 roundtrip, including tips. Of course, I researched the mall before heading to Boise. On this trip, I purchased a souvenir ornament, stickers, and potato chips at Handmade Idaho. You cannot visit Idaho without tasting something made from a potato, and I love a great chip. I grabbed a jalapeno burger from Good Burger before calling Lyft. By the way, American Express had a promotion for 20% off rides. Yes, I saved $4.
